A game thats incredibly fun, creative and impossible to put down probably one of the best in the app store

This game is a mixture of RPG and Strategy and very demanding if you want to be successful at it. 5 Stars!

The game says to win i.e. to become king of the tribes and clans of the dragon pass you should think and act like a barbarian leader would in a harsh land and forget about todays ethics. But thats not exactly true because you can only win by being soft and bribing everybody around you until the become friendly. If you wanna be king you have give out even more presents. Strength or even cruelty mean nothing, instead you have to the noble good guy. The game goes like this: Do rituals which is actually bribing again to get bonuses from gods. Build stuff to make your life easier, explore, raid, trade and communicate with other clans. All this while dealing with random events and getting advices from you selected staff members! Great! Really. The limits only become visible if you play longer, and they are what brings this really unique game somewhat down. So for example all other clans are immortal, they have infinite people and resources. You wanna raid some clan 4x a year? No problem. You still get loot and they even have resources to hire mercenaries to buff up their army. Earlier or later they move away, but that only means your army has to walk a longer way for raids. No clan can be completely defeated or even enslaved. Except your own which can starve to death for example. So why to produce goods if you simply can steal them from an infinite pool? Having a strong army is a good idea anyway. But, and thats the next catch, you can only have about 1000 people in your clan. Then your guys start complaining until the point that neither talking nor bribing helps. They just leave cutting down your mighty clan to where it started! Boring. And again I miss the option to just take some heads and wonder why they even dare to provoke my strong, successful and battle proven leader. There is more though its a decent game, just not soooo great as it may seem.

An awesome textbased adventure and strategy game!

Ever since I first got the chance to lead my people through the seemingly boundless wonders of Dragon Pass, Ive been hooked. Thanks for bringing this wonderful game to a mobile platform A Sharp-I look forward to many hours of ever-changing fun and adventure!

This is a great game. Maybe a little too much reading but thats ok.

Ive bought a lot of turn based games on the iPhone. This is one of the best, if you like turn-based or board game style games then just buy this. You wont regret it.

What an incredibly deep and well-conceived game. My favorite game in the App store, serious fan of the strategy-rpg genre cannot miss this masterpiece.

Ive spent a lot of money on dozens of hit games on ios. I played them all for a short period of time. This game however has me hooked with the complexity and huge depth. The atmosphere, writing and gameplay are very well crafted. Its not steep in price for what it is... absolutely worth the price.

It was hard for me to initially justify buying a $10 app but I was so curious about this game that I couldnt resist. It has turned out to be one of the best $10 ive spent! This game is very unique and has pretty much endless replay value and is very well suited for pick and play you can play for a few minutes and stil make alot of progress. I bought it about a week ago and I cannot stop playing, Ive been spending alot of free time playing this ( and some time that shouldnt be free lol). Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys strategy and rpg genres.

Cant believe how detailed this game is. Its the perfect simulation for iPhone: super deep and detailed while not requiring any point-and-click micro-management that would be annoying on the small screen. You need to read the manual and learn how the game works to succeed, but each action you take is small and you can think about it all you want first. I havent finished a single game yet but my feeling is it will let you make a lot of mistakes without killing you, but to succeed you need to make a lot of right decisions in a row. Overall this is an expensive purchase but I havent played anything as expansively conceived yet on the iPhone. Definitely better than Civilisation for iPhone due to the form factor being much more appropriate.

I love role-playing games, but havent really found Im able to enjoy this one. I find the game is so complex that I spend most of my time worrying about what I should be doing next. Additionally, I find it very difficult to figure out what types of actions will have a positive result, which I think makes the gameplay frustrating. Obviously, this is only my opinion; based on the reviews, its clear that many people enjoy it.

Horrible game. Too much going on and very convoluted.. I want my $10 back. I played for about 20 minutes and shut it off. Avoid this expensive download unless you love long winded, text based games.

If you have even a remote interest in Runequest or the world Glorantha then your going to love this app.

King of Dragon Pass is one of those games that is completely unlike any of its peers. KoDP is a roleplaying game in the strictest sense: set in the mythical realm of Glorantha, you control a tribe after it moves to a new realm. You will encounter strange magicians, mysterious elves, gods old and new, and will interact with other tribes trying to survive - and conquer. All major events in the game are dealt with "Choose Your Own Adventure" dialogues, with no wrong answer. Your actions may have positive effects on your farmers but negative effects on your warriors, or you might risk alienating a friendly clan in order to gain a magical artifact. The bottom line is that this game is well-worth your time, and is one of the deepest, richest experiences on the app store. Expect to sink at least 5 hours per individual game, with excellent replayability.

This is great game that offers lots depth and value for only $10. Its a nice change from the many mindless games that have you running around killing things. Be warned, the game can seem a little Overwhelming at first so you need to approach it knowing there is lots of reading shake of you. My only complaint is that sometimes when Im scrolling through the text i will click on an action by mistake. Does anyone know If these is a way to prevent this?

My favorite release on AppStore to date! I noticed some people claim it is too complicated, I doubt they read the manual cause it encompasses everything. If you dont feel like reading for an hour thats fine though, the game is meant to be a story, you are not supposed to know how every thing works ahead of time! Just roll with it!

Great game! Totally worth it if you liked Choose-Your-Own-Adventure books as a kid. Only issue is results can seem arbitrary and luck-based sometimes, cant tell if thats actually the case so some actions and choices end up feeling less important.
