It’s immensely replayable, thanks to over 575 interactive scenes and two objectives. Short episodes and automatic saving mean you can play even when you only have a minute or two. The built-in saga writes down the story for you. And advisors with distinctive personalities help you track your cows.

The gorgeous hand-painted artwork won Best Visual Arts at the second Independent Games Festival.

• Everything in the game is utterly convincing and even years after release, the possibilities seem endless. (One of the 5 best strategy games ever made) [Rock, Paper, Shotgun]
• Its like they took the best parts of Civilization games and combined them with the best part of Choose Your Own Adventure style game books. … What I like most about King of Dragon Pass is the seemingly infinite possibilities that the game has. … I cant get enough of King of Dragon Pass. [Touch Arcade]
• A wholly unique adventure that has no equal on the iPhone. [Pocket Gamer]
• An interactive story with a level of complexity and brilliance thats rarely seen in video games. [Gamezebo]

Players say:
• I am really happy to have found this game. It scratches so many itches: simulator, rpg, adventure book...Great work! I find myself playing it on both my iPad and iPhone. Very addictive!
• I got this game at 6pm tonight. Its now 4am, and Ive hardly scratched the surface of the depth of this game.
• I now have a fun, engaging, thought provoking RPG on my iPhone, an RPG that fits in my purse and that I can play any time I want, not having to have my computer or Xbox 360 near me to do so.
• If Bioware remade Civilization theyd be lucky to end up half as good as King of Dragon Pass.
• Its impossible to describe the emotional tug you feel when an old and trusted advisor, who youve watched grow from a young upstart, dies of old age. Or when an exploration team disappears into the wilds, never to be heard from again. Or when a cursed clansman, shunned by his peers, sacrifices himself to stop a raid. This game will never leave my iPhone. Thats the only accolade possible.

The game is completely accessible via VoiceOver.

Pros and cons of King of Dragon Pass app for iPhone and iPad

King of Dragon Pass app good for

A game thats incredibly fun, creative and impossible to put down probably one of the best in the app store
This game is a mixture of RPG and Strategy and very demanding if you want to be successful at it. 5 Stars!
Ever since I first got the chance to lead my people through the seemingly boundless wonders of Dragon Pass, Ive been hooked. Thanks for bringing this wonderful game to a mobile platform A Sharp-I look forward to many hours of ever-changing fun and adventure!
This is a great game. Maybe a little too much reading but thats ok.
Ive bought a lot of turn based games on the iPhone. This is one of the best, if you like turn-based or board game style games then just buy this. You wont regret it.
What an incredibly deep and well-conceived game. My favorite game in the App store, serious fan of the strategy-rpg genre cannot miss this masterpiece.

Some bad moments

I love role-playing games, but havent really found Im able to enjoy this one. I find the game is so complex that I spend most of my time worrying about what I should be doing next. Additionally, I find it very difficult to figure out what types of actions will have a positive result, which I think makes the gameplay frustrating. Obviously, this is only my opinion; based on the reviews, its clear that many people enjoy it.
Horrible game. Too much going on and very convoluted.. I want my $10 back. I played for about 20 minutes and shut it off. Avoid this expensive download unless you love long winded, text based games.
Everything about this game is completely arbitrary. Send 25 weapon thanes and 150 men against 6 weapon thanes and 40 men. You lose and 30 people are taken hostage. Send half that. You win. Events pop up and outcomes are random, much like everything else you do in this game. Its mediocre at best, but a complete waste of time for anyone who likes actual strategy games
Great concept, just WAY WAY WAY too many rules. It makes the sim VERY difficult to analyze. Results often seem arbitrary. I think with more time invested I could figure it out but Im just not willing to put that kind of effort in.
Theres no logic in this game and its impossible to finish a hero quest. I cant believe I spent $10 on it.
Way too expensive for what you get. This app is worth 2 dollars.
